Barcelona star Pedri is currently training away from the rest of his teammates in Hansi Flick’s squad. This comes as the Blaugrana do their utmost to ease their midfield standout back into a prominent role.
Pedri is of course fresh off playing his part in the Spanish national team’s triumphant campaign at the 2026 World Cup.
After being afforded an extended vacation by those in a position of power at Barcelona, the 23-year-old, in turn, returned to base in Catalunya’s capital earlier this week.
Fellow Spanish internationals Lamine Yamal, Gavi and more have already linked back up with the rest of the Blaugrana’s ranks in group training.
As alluded to above, though, extra caution is evidently being exercised with Pedri. As confirmed across Barcelona’s social media platforms, the former Las Palmas talent is being put through ‘a specific training program during his first days of pre-season’.
He is therefore not expected to feature on Sunday, when the La Liga champions lock horns with Swiss outfit Basel in a friendly clash.
