Barcelona star to undergo tests as injury blow confirmed

An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Marc Casadó has come to the fore on Sunday evening.

This comes after the midfielder was at the last minute forced to pull out of Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo.

Originally named in Hansi Flick’s starting XI at Balaídos, the Spanish international was just minutes before kick-off replaced by Dani Olmo.

And an insight into why has since been provided.

As per a report from Blaugrana journalist Javier Miguel of Diario AS, Casadó has picked up an adductor strain.

The 21-year-old will in turn be put through a round of medical tests in Catalunya’s capital on Monday morning, at which point the extent of his issue will become more clear.

Despite the late withdrawal of their midfield star, Barcelona are currently well on their way to all three points in Vigo.

Owing to a hat-trick on the part of Robert Lewandowski, alongside a further strike from Lamine Yamal, the reigning Spanish champions find themselves in possession of a 4-2 advantage.
