La Liga champions Barcelona are expected to be without the services of midfield standout Pedri until the far side of the November international break.
This comes after the 22-year-old was dealt an injury setback.
The name of Spanish international Pedri has taken its place centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.
This comes after Barcelona took to the club’s social media platforms, to announce:
‘First team player Pedri has suffered a tear in the distal biceps femoris muscle in his left thigh. The player’s recovery will dictate his return to action.’
Initial reports suggested that Pedri could in turn be sidelined for as long as five weeks.
As per Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, however, the midfielder’s absence may not be quite so prolonged:
‘Pedri out for three weeks. Won’t return until after the international break.’
Either way, the Spanish international is certain to miss Barca’s next three fixtures, against Elche, Club Brugge, and Celta Vigo.
