A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is set to be restored to the club’s starting XI for their next outing.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Andreas Christensen as the player in question.
Stopper Christensen is for his part in the midst of something of a resurgence over the early weeks of the new campaign.
Having put his long-standing fitness woes behind him, the Dane has been afforded appearances in six of Barcelona’s eight La Liga fixtures.
And for the most part, the former Chelsea man has impressed along the way.
Coupled with the ongoing struggles of Ronald Araújo to rediscover his best form, and a standout performance on Christensen’s part on the international front on Thursday, and a deserved reward is understood to be coming the way of the 29-year-old.
As per a report from Sport, after being benched for Barcelona’s last two fixtures, against PSG and Sevilla:
‘Christensen will be in the starting line-up for the next match against Girona.’
