Barcelona star to be punished by Hansi Flick

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has been pencilled in for an incoming punishment on the part of the club.

That’s according to Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel, who points towards Héctor Fort as the player in question.

Youngster Fort was for his part left somewhat red-faced this past Sunday.

This comes after the 18-year-old arrived to Barcelona’s pre-season medical tests well past the 9AM deadline.

Fort is understood to have been in attendance at close friend Lamine Yamal’s 18th birthday party the night before, and evidently overslept as a result.

Several members of both the coaching and backroom staff were left altogether unimpressed by the young full-back’s behaviour, not least of all manager Hansi Flick.

Tactician Flick is known to make use of a zero tolerance policy when it comes to tardiness, a stance which culminated in Jules Koundé being dropped on more than one occasion last season.

And as per the aforementioned Javier Miguel of Diario AS, Fort will not escape unscathed, either:

‘It’s still unknown what punishment Flick has in store for his first lateness of the season, but it certainly won’t go unpunished.’

The young Spaniard is already understood to have been verbally ‘reprimanded’ for his behaviour.
