Barcelona star the subject of interest from a number of Saudi clubs

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is attracting mounting transfer interest by way of the Saudi Pro League.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Robert Lewandowski as the player in question.

Frontman Lewandowski is for his part of course fresh off a thoroughly productive campaign in Catalunya’s capital.

All told, en route to Barcelona racking up a domestic treble, the Polish international found the net 42 times across all competitions.

And yet, speculation surrounding his future has continued to swirl across the summer to date.

Set to turn 37 next month, and with just a year remaining on his contract at the Camp Nou, it has been suggested that Barcelona could consider sanctioning Lewandowski’s sale at the right price.

If the latest word doing the rounds in Spain this week is anything to go by, though, then any such transfer, as things stand, is highly unlikely.

As per a report from MD:

‘Several Saudi league clubs are closely monitoring his situation and have even sounded out his entourage to find out if he’s willing to move this summer. The Polish forward has one more year on his contract at Barcelona, and according to what those closest to him say, he has no intention of leaving.’
