Barcelona star the latest to label teammate ‘the best player in the world’

Barcelona star Fermín López has this week added his name to the growing list of individuals to have publicly expressed their opinion that Lamine Yamal should now be considered the best player in world football.

Wide-man Lamine has of course spent the last year continuing to build upon his reputation as not only the game’s standout young talent, but arguably the standout player in the game full stop.

Still just 18, the Spanish international has been widely hailed for his unpredictability and individual brilliance, at a time when so many players and teams as a whole are restricted by a rigid system.

With such talent comes inevitable outside chatter, though.

Lamine’s growing profile has seen the youngster’s name frequently take its place centre stage in the headlines across Spain and beyond of late.

Speaking during his own appearance in front of the media on Monday, the subject of such chatter – often less than positive – was in turn put to fellow Barcelona talent Fermín López.

And the midfielder went on to reveal his take that:

“Lamine is the best player in the world, that’s why everyone is talking about him.”
