Barcelona star takes back top scorer status in win over Athletic Club

The top scorer pecking order at La Liga champions Barcelona took another pair of turns on Saturday.

This came as the Blaugrana romped to another dominant three-point haul.

Hansi Flick’s troops kicked their campaign back into gear a short time ago, in a league meeting with former manager Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Club.

When all was said and done, the evening’s hosts emerged comfortable victors, by four goals to nil.

Robert Lewandowski was responsible for opening the scoring, in the process moving clear as Barcelona’s sole top scorer this season (8 goals).

The Pole, however, soon saw his status taken away by attacking partner-in-crime Ferran Torres.

After Ferran put his side two goals to the good with a strike of his own on the stroke of the interval, the former Manchester City man went on to round out the scoring late on, after latching onto another fine Lamine Yamal assist.

And as a result, Ferran has leapfrogged Lewandowski to the top of the Barca goalscoring charts (9 goals).
