La Liga giants Barcelona have been afforded some timely positive news on the personnel front on Saturday.
This comes amid confirmation that Jules Koundé has returned to training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad.
Defender Koundé had for his part sparked widespread concern in Catalunya’s capital over the last couple of days.
The Frenchman was a notable absentee from group activities at the Ciutat Esportiva on both Thursday and Friday, whilst dealing with a fitness concern.
His status to feature in Sunday’s top-of-the-table showdown between Barcelona and Real Madrid was therefore thrown somewhat up in the air.
With the likes of Raphinha, Dani Olmo, Gavi and Joan García already ruled out through injury, Koundé being added to this list would have marked a heavy blow for Hansi Flick and his team.
On Saturday, the Blaugrana have therefore breathed a collective sigh of relief.
