Barcelona star spotted back in training ahead of Valencia

A headline member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was on Sunday spotted back in group training alongside the rest of the club’s squad.

The player in question? Pedri.

Spanish international Pedri, for his part, has been a notable absentee at the Barcelona training ground across the week to date.

Despite having marked his return from a hamstring injury almost three weeks ago, maximum precaution has continued to be exercised when it comes to the 21-year-old’s fitness.

Pedri, as a result, has been put through individualised sessions on a daily basis, to reduce the risk of any kind of setback as best possible.

His status for Barca’s impending La Liga meeting with Valencia on Monday, in turn, had been thrown somewhat up in the air.

All associated with the Blaugrana, as a result, will no doubt be delighted to hear that on Sunday, their side’s engine room standout was back in the thick of things in Catalunya’s capital.

As per a report from Diario Sport, Pedri saw out group training in full this morning.

And boss Xavi has since gone on to confirm in his pre-match press conference that the youngster will in turn be available to feature against Valencia tomorrow night:

“Pedri is okay. He is available tomorrow and 100% to help the team.”
