Barcelona star Dani Olmo has provided his take on the decision of young teammate Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández to leave the club.
This of course comes fresh off the 18-year-old officially bringing a close to his Camp Nou stint.
Barcelona released a statement on Tuesday evening, announcing that Dro has made the move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent basis.
The Spaniard’s exit comes after he informed the Barcelona brass of his desire to seek out more consistent senior playing time at a new club earlier this month.
This news was met with widespread disappointment in Catalunya’s capital, with Dro having been considered a future star in the making.
Speaking to the media during a press conference on Tuesday, the subject of his now-former teammate’s exit was therefore put to the aforementioned Dani Olmo.
And the midfielder went on to explain:
“Everyone has their reasons. I had my reasons at that time, and Dro now has his reasons. In the end, it’s very regrettable because he was a bet from the club and was already part of the team’s training and games. We wish him all the best.”
