Barcelona star speaks on the possibility of becoming club captain

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week spoken out on the prospect of becoming the club’s captain down the line.

The player in question? Pau Cubarsí.

Youngster Cubarsí has of course long been considered one of the first names on the team sheet in Catalunya’s capital.

Still just 18, the stopper boasts the kind of poise and control of a player much his senior, boding altogether well when it comes to Cubarsí’s future leadership prospects.

The Spaniard is currently away on international with with Luis de la Fuente’s La Roja, but faced the media for a round of questions this week.

During as much, Cubarsí was at one point asked about potentially taking up the captain’s armband at the Camp Nou.

And the teen appeared excited by such a prospect, explaining:

“If one day they make me captain, I’ll wear the armband with pride.”
