A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona will soon see his contract terms extended all the way through the summer of 2030.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Eric García as the player in question.
Spanish international Eric has of course spent the early weeks of the new season building on his new-found importance in Hansi Flick’s squad.
After shining in the absence of the injured Jules Koundé late last season, the former Manchester City man has gone on to start all three of Barcelona’s fixtures in 2025/26.
In fact, only three members of the Blaugrana’s squad have managed more minutes than Eric to date.
Hansi Flick is a leading figure behind as much, with the versatile defender understood to boast the full backing of his manager for present and future alike.
And as alluded to above, such faith will soon be reflected on the part of the Camp Nou brass, too.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Eric Garcia will sign his new contract with Barça until 2030. The plan is clear: both the player and the club want to extend the contract before Christmas.’
