Barcelona star sends public message to Sergio Busquets

Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen has on Sunday taken to social media, to send a message of congratulations and well wishes the way of Sergio Busquets.

This of course comes fresh off the Blaugrana icon bringing down the curtain on his glittering career.

Busquets featured from the off on Saturday evening, as Inter Miami closed out the MLS campaign in a cup final showdown with the Vancouver Whitecaps.

When all was said and done, Inter emerged on the right side of a 3-1 result, to secure the first MLS title in the club’s history.

Upon the full-time whistle sounding at Chase Stadium, though, the careers of not one, but two Barcelona legends came to an emotional close.

After previously announcing their respective intentions to retire at the end of the season, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets have now both hung up their boots.

Messages of well wishes, in turn, have since come flooding in for the two Spaniards from across world football.

And one such message, as alluded to above, came by way of Catalunya’s capital.

Taking to his official Instagram account on Sunday, Marc-André ter Stegen, who long shared a dressing room with Busquets in Barcelona, wrote:

‘Congratulations on your world class career, Busi. Amazing to see you end with yet another trophy. A Barça and football legend, one of the best ever in your position. It was a pleasure to share the pitch with you so many times. Wishing you the best with your next chapter!’
