Soon-to-be former Barcelona star Iñigo Martínez has this weekend forwarded a message the way of the Blaugrana.
This of course comes ahead of his imminent departure from Catalunya’s capital.
The name of defender Iñigo has dominated the headlines across Spain over the last 48 hours.
As much comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that, out of the blue, the 34-year-old had made the call to bring a close to the Barca chapter of his career.
Iñigo has agreed on the terms of a move to Saudi Arabia, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr.
The experienced stopper has already departed the city of Barcelona, to make his way to the Middle East this weekend.
As alluded to above, though, prior to his departure, Iñigo spared a moment to send a heartfelt message the way of the Blaugrana and their fanbase.
Speaking to Diario Sport whilst at the airport, the former Athletic Club man explained:
“It’s been a very busy but beautiful few days. The farewell with my teammates has been very nice and I wish Barcelona the best.”
Drawn specifically on the Barca faithful, Iñigo added:
“I can only thank you for these two years that have been wonderful.”
