Barcelona star ruled out of Olympiacos clash

La Liga giants Barcelona will be forced to make do without a leading member of the club’s frontline once more in their next outing.

That’s according to COPE, who point towards Raphinha as the player in question.

Wide-man Raphinha was for his part of course forced to sit out for the latest time on Saturday.

This came as Barcelona locked horns with Girona, in the club’s post-international break return to competitive dutes.

When all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s troops did manage a return to winning ways, courtesy of a last-gasp 2-1 triumph.

But the absence of Raphinha was sorely felt again, with the Brazilian’s directness and constant threat in the final third missed by his teammates.

And if the latest word stemming from the media on Sunday is anything to go by, then Barcelona look set to be forced to make do without the contributions of the former Leeds United man once again this week.

As per a report from COPE:

‘Raphinha will miss the Champions League match against Olympiacos. His goal is to be ready for El Clásico.’
