Barcelona star reveals why he is getting ‘tired’ of Real Madrid ahead of El Clásico

Barcelona star Fermín López has this week opened up on his frustration with those in a position of power at arch rivals Real Madrid. This of course comes as Spanish football’s two biggest clubs prepare to lock horns for the latest occasion this coming weekend.

Barcelona are primed to welcome Real Madrid to the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday evening, for the season’s first edition of El Clásico.

Heading into the fixture, much of the discourse has centered on the ongoing ‘Negreira Case’, a long-standing point of contention between the respective boards at Real and Barca.

The former recently breathed fresh life into the investigation into the Blaugrana’s long-term payments to ex-La Liga referee chief José María Enríquez Negreira, upon sending a massive document featuring files, figures and more to UEFA.

Barcelona, all the while, maintain their innocence, adamant that they have done no wrong, culminating in mounting tension between the clubs ahead of Sunday’s clash on the pitch.

Speaking in an exchange with the media on Friday, the aforementioned Fermín López therefore made use of the opportunity to reveal his disappointment with the behaviour of Florentino Pérez and co.

During an interview with Teledeporte of TVE, midfielder Fermín admitted:

“Real Madrid’s constant references to the Negreira case are getting a bit tiring because we’re showing our quality on the pitch. It’s unfair to engage in this kind of rhetoric when things are going well for us. If they keep pushing this narrative, it’s because it suits them, but we don’t get involved in it.”
