Barcelona star Joan García has provided an insight into the message passed on to he and his teammates at the interval of tonight’s disasterclass against Chelsea.
The Blaugrana, of course, are fresh off an outing to forget in west London.
After making the trip to Stamford Bridge to lock horns with Chelsea in the Champions League, Barca found themselves condemned to the wrong side of an eventual 3-0 result.
With 45 minutes on the clock, the visitors already found themselves both a goal and a man down.
Boss Hansi Flick, in turn, had a major task on his hands in turning things around.
And speaking to the media post-match, the aforementioned Joan García opened up on the ultimately fruitless message sent the way of Barcelona’s squad by their manager in the dressing room:
“The message from the dressing room at half-time was to put in a lot of energy, to keep playing, and to take advantage of the opportunities that might come our way.”
