The commitment of Barcelona star Andreas Christensen to the cause in Catalunya’s capital has this week been reiterated.
This comes amid confirmation that the Danish international has absolutely zero intention of departing the club this summer.
Defender Christensen’s future as a Barcelona player has long been considered as being up in the air. The former Chelsea man’s contract terms are due to expire later this month, with an agreement yet to be reached on the terms of a renewal.
Owing to as much, a host of clubs are understood to have touched base with his entourage, over a potential free agent joining of forces.
And according to Mundo Deportivo, several of these suitors put on the table proposals worth more than Christensen’s Blaugrana wages.
The 30-year-old, though, remains steadfast in his desire to stay put at the Spotify Camp Nou.
As per MD’s report:
‘Despite last-minute attempts to sign him, and despite interest from clubs in Greece, Italy, and England, Andreas Christensen remains committed to renewing his contract with FC Barcelona for two more seasons.’
Talks between the parties, in turn, are ongoing, amid hopes of an accord being reached over the coming weeks.
