Barcelona star Marc Bernal has moved to play down the concerns surrounding a potential injury suffered in the club’s latest outing.
This comes after the youngster was forced into a premature departure from the Blaugrana’s meeting with Newcastle United.
Barca were of course back in action on Tuesday night, making the trip to England for a Champions League meeting with Newcastle.
Amid the ongoing absence of Frenkie de Jong, Bernal was afforded a starting berth at St. James’ Park, in the middle of the park.
En route to an eventual 1-1 draw, though, the 18-year-old went to ground during the 2nd-half, before limping from the field of play.
This gave rise to fears of a potential injury setback for a player just rediscovering full fitness.
All associated with Barcelona will therefore no doubt be delighted with the latest comments on the part of Bernal himself.
Drawn on his wellbeing by the media post-match on Tuesday, the midfielder assured:
“All okay, just cramps.“
