La Liga champions Barcelona have been dealt a last-minute injury blow, on the verge of their meeting with Villarreal.
This comes amid confirmation that Andreas Christensen will not be available for the fixture.
Defender Christensen is for his part fresh off a starring performance in Barcelona’s colours in midweek.
Thrown back in from the off in the Blaugrana’s Copa del Rey clash with Guadalajara, the Dane provided a timely reminder of his talents when fit and firing.
En route to a 2-0 triumph, Christensen opened the scoring, the highlight of a Man of the Match display.
It had in turn been suggested that the former Chelsea man could even be rewarded with another starting berth on Sunday.
As alluded to above, however, this will not be the case…
As per a report from journalist Alfredo Martinez:
‘Christensen is out tomorrow against Villarreal. He got injured in today’s training session and hasn’t travelled.’
