Barcelona star Pedri provides update on his injury recovery

Barcelona star Pedri has today provided an insight into his latest injury recovery efforts.

As much of course comes after the 21-year-old suffered the latest fitness setback in his fledgling career earlier this month.

Featuring from the off in Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Athletic Club a little over two weeks ago, Pedri lasted just 45 minutes, before being forced to limp out of proceedings with a muscular problem.

Ensuing medical tests went on to reveal that he had picked up an injury to the rectus femoris muscle in his right thigh, ruling the youngster out for an expected spell of between five and six weeks.

During an online Q&A session with fans this week, it therefore came as little surprise when Pedri was asked when he expects to take his place back on the pitch.

And though the Spanish international refused to point towards a specific date, he did confirm that all is ‘going well’ in his recovery.

“As soon as possible but without specifying a specific date or match,” Pedri began, as cited by Mundo Deportivo. “I want to be at my best to enjoy the most important part of the season with my teammates, because the upcoming matches are very nice.

“At the moment everything is going well. Apart from my recovery and gym work, I am very careful with my diet, removing things that did not make me feel good, and I do Pilates as well as work in a hyperbaric chamber,” he concluded.
