Barcelona star now a ‘serious doubt’ to face Real Madrid

La Liga giants Barcelona could be forced to make do without a leading member of the club’s midfield ranks in their upcoming showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Dani Olmo as the player in question.

Attacking midfielder Olmo has of course seen his name emerge as an altogether prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital on Friday.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the 27-year-old had been forced into a premature departure from international duty with Spain.

Owing to a muscular issue, Olmo has returned to base in Barcelona.

And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then as much could result in the former RB Leipzig man missing several important fixtures.

As per a report from MD:

‘Dani Olmo suffered an injury yesterday during the Spanish national team’s training camp in Las Rozas, which will force him to withdraw from training and seriously doubts his presence in FC Barcelona’s upcoming matches, including El Clásico against Real Madrid.’
