A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona was a notable absentee from group training on Saturday.
The player in question? Eric García.
Stopper Eric of course set alarm bells sounding across Catalunya’s capital once more earlier this week.
This came upon the Spaniard being forced into a premature departure from Barcelona’s Champions League drubbing of Newcastle United.
Post-match, it was confirmed that Eric had suffered a minor setback in his ongoing efforts to recover from a recent muscular complaint.
It was also assured, though, that the former Manchester City man was not facing up to a fresh spell on the sidelines.
But as alluded to above, 24 hours out from Barca’s next outing, Eric remains on the sidelines.
As per a report from Jijantes, in the final pre-Rayo Vallecano training session held by Hansi Flick and his staff on Saturday, Eric was nowhere to be seen.
