Barcelona star manages 98% pass accuracy on international stage

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona on Saturday managed a remarkable passing feat whilst on international duty.

The player in question? Pau Cubarsí.

Stopper Cubarsí was for his part in from the off this evening, as Spain locked horns with Georgia in a World Cup qualifier.

After Real Madrid counterpart Dean Huijsen was ruled out through injury, the Blaugrana starlet was entrusted to step in in his place.

And Cubarsí went on to fully justify his inclusion…

Across the 90 minutes, the 18-year-old shone on both sides of the ball, largely untroubled in his defensive duties.

It was on the ball, though, where Cubarsí truly excelled.

As revealed by statisticians Sofascore, the young stopper found his intended target with all but two of his 97 pass attempts this evening, including 54 of 54 in the Georgia half.

This makes for a head-turning completion percentage of 98.
