Barcelona star maintains status as only outfield player in Hansi Flick’s squad to have played every minute this season

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona on Sunday kept alive his streak of having played every minute of the club’s campaign to date.

The player in question? Xavi Espart.

Barcelona were back in action earlier this evening, making the trip to Mestalla to lock horns with Valencia in a league clash. The aforementioned Espart featured from the off in the fixture, from his new berth at left-back.

And en route to an eventual 5-0 Blaugrana romp, the 19-year-old barely put a foot wrong all match. Continuing to prove himself one of Barca’s most reliable performers, Espart racked up seven ground duels won, 100% success in his aerial duels, 30 completed passes and more.

Not only that, but the versatile full-back continued to act as the sole ever-present outfield player on the pitch in Hansi Flick’s squad in 2026/27.

Across Barcelona’s first four fixtures of the term, Espart has played all 360 minutes, the only Blaugrana star other than goalkeeper Joan García who can claim as much.
