Barcelona starlet Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández has this week been tipped for what would be a surprising January exit from the club.
This comes amid alleged interest in the services of the midfield starlet on the part of West Ham United.
Youngster Dro has for his part spent recent weeks establishing himself as an increasingly prominent figure in the first-team setup at Barcelona.
Taking advantage of the ongoing injury crisis in Hansi Flick’s squad, the 17-year-old has been afforded a pair of starts, one in Europe, and one in La Liga.
He even managed to lay on an assist in the former, en route to a 6-1 Champions League drubbing of Olympiacos.
And as alluded to above, such exploits have evidently not gone unnoticed in England…
Specifically, Dro is understood to have piqued the interest of Premier League outfit West Ham United.
As per a report from Barcelona journalist Adrian Sanchez, the brass at the London Stadium have set their sights on a January deal for the Spaniard.
The Irons would be keen on a permanent move before Dro’s price-tag surges any further, but a short-term loan appears a more realistic option.
It remains to be seen if Hansi Flick would be willing to open the door to such an operation.
