A leading member of the first-team ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona departed the warm-up for the club’s meeting with Girona prematurely.
The player in question? Wojciech Szczęsny.
Barcelona are of course set to kick their campaign back into gear in short order.
In their post-international break return to the pitch, the Blaugrana have welcomed Catalan rivals Girona to Montjuïc, for a La Liga clash.
The aforementioned Wojciech Szczęsny was for his part included in Hansi Flick’s XI for the matchup, amid the ongoing absences of both Joan García and Marc-André ter Stegen.
As alluded to above, however, during the warm-up, the Pole all of a sudden made a beeline for the tunnel.
As showcased in the footage below, whilst being put through his paces on the pitch, Szczęsny departed Barca’s warm-up prematurely.
It now remains to be seen if as much came simply as a precaution, or owing to an injury setback.
