A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona was forced into a premature departure from training on Thursday morning.
That’s according to journalist Carlos Monfort of Diario Sport, who points to Frenkie de Jong as the player in question.
Barcelona are of course currently in the thick of preparations for the headline fixture of the club’s season to date this weekend.
Fresh off putting six past Olympiacos in the Champions League on Tuesday, the Blaugrana have shifted focus towards a showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid.
In the buildup to the fixture, Hansi Flick has been forced to make do without a number of important members of his squad, owing to injury.
And as alluded to above, earlier today, a fresh concern was forthcoming at the Ciutat Esportiva.
As per a report from the aforementioned Carlos Monfort:
‘Frenkie de Jong has just left the Ciutat Esportiva and is not training with the team three days before the Clásico! The Dutchman is feeling unwell and is not in a condition to train this morning.’
