Barcelona star Lamine Yamal fires lighthearted warning to Real Madrid summer signing

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has this week fired a warning message the way of international teammate Marc Cucurella.

This of course comes after the latter put pen to paper on terms with Barca’s arch rivals, Real Madrid.

Cucurella opted for a return to La Liga earlier this month, departing Premier League giants Chelsea for a new challenge at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The 27-year-old is expected to slot straight in as the first-choice left-back in José Mourinho’s Real Madrid squad, replacing Álvaro Carreras for next season.

This means that Cucurella will be the latest Blancos star tasked directly with keeping tabs on Lamine Yamal in fixtures between Spanish football’s two biggest clubs.

Speaking during an appearance in front of the media this week, wide-man Lamine therefore made use of the opportunity to send a lighthearted warning to his compatriot.

Questioned on Cucurella’s return to Spain during an interview with COPE (as cited by Fabrizio Romano), the 18-year-old explained:

“Look, I told him that he will start the first match but by the second he will already be a substitute… because I’m going to eat him alive!”
