A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona was forced into a premature departure from the club’s latest outing.
This came owing to an injury scare.
Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming Rayo Vallecano to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged narrow victors, by a solitary goal to nil.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, though, Hansi Flick and co. were forced to hold their breath regarding the wellbeing of the club’s stars on several occasions.
First, Joan García went to ground for the 2nd outing in succession, only to shake the problem off and continue.
Next came Fermín López, who was left floored and in evident discomfort early in the 2nd-half. He too, though, returned to his feet to carry on.
Then, in the game’s closing moments, it was the turn of João Cancelo to pick up an issue. But unlike his teammates, the Portuguese did limp off, replaced by youngster Xavi Espart.
It now remains to be seen if Cancelo is facing up to any sort of incoming spell on the sidelines.
