Barcelona star Marc Casadó is being increasingly pushed into the background in Catalunya’s capital by manager Hansi Flick.
This fact was confirmed once again on Tuesday night, in the Blaugrana’s meeting with Chelsea.
Barcelona were of course condemned to an alarming defeat on the continent yesterday evening, downed by three goals to nil at Stamford Bridge.
Several of the Spanish champions’ leading midfielders were forced to sit out in west London, with Pedri and Gavi both unavailable through injury, and Marc Bernal not yet ready for such all-action fixtures.
And yet, Marc Casadó still didn’t manage to secure for himself a single minute of playing time.
Instead, Eric García was again pushed forward into midfield, before another defender, in Andreas Christensen, replaced the Spaniard in the middle of the park during the 2nd-half.
Even Dani Olmo, a pure attacking midfielder, has been favoured in the pivot role of late.
It is in turn concluded by Diario Sport that:
‘Casadó has lost prominence after his breakthrough last season. The midfielder has lost his place in Hansi Flick’s plans.’
