Barcelona star Raphinha will be free to push through a move to Saudi Arabia next summer, should he so choose.
This comes owing to an agreement put in place between the Brazilian and Barcelona during contract negotiations in 2024.
Wide-man Raphinha last year committed to fresh terms in Catalunya’s capital, through the summer of 2028.
During talks over the renewal, though, the parties left the door open to a potential parting of ways much sooner.
As per a report from Diario Sport, citing Xavi Campos on Catalunya Ràdio’s ‘Barça Reservat’ podcast:
‘Raphinha agreed with Deco, Barça’s sporting director, verbal conditions that would facilitate an exit if he decides to accept any of the Saudi proposals after playing with Brazil in the 2026 World Cup.’
It is reiterated that as of this moment the player has zero desire to depart the Spotify Camp Nou, but the situation is certainly one to keep an eye on with a view to next summer.
