A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga heavyweights Barcelona was on Tuesday afforded a memorable reception in training.
The player in question? Fermín López.
Fermín is for his part fresh off a special summer.
After a stellar close to the season on the books of the aforementioned Barcelona, the 21-year-old was afforded a call-up to Spain’s squad for the European Championships.
The youngster, in turn, played his part in La Roja’s triumphant campaign, before then being selected for the country’s Olympic Games campaign, too.
And not only did Fermín go on to play his part in Spain’s gold medal campaign, but the Blaugrana talent proved himself the star of the show, notching six goals across the length of the tournament.
Following a well-earned extended vacation, Fermín linked back up with Hansi Flick’s squad in Catalunya’s capital earlier today, no doubt brimming with confidence ahead of the new campaign.
And, as alluded to above, he was met with a display of recognition for his efforts on the international front over the last couple of months.
As revealed by journalist Guillem Borràs Pérez on X, Fermín’s teammates afforded him a guard of honour, footage of which can be seen below:
