Barcelona star Pedri has this week provided an insight into the reasoning behind his trademark goal celebration.
Midfielder Pedri has for his part long been making use of a specific action after finding the net in competitive fixtures.
As much sees the 22-year-old raise his hands to his face, to mimic glasses/goggles.
The celebration has become an altogether recognisable across world football, as Pedri continues to make a name for himself as one of the very best and most beloved players in the game.
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media this week, the Spanish international was therefore asked if there is a specific meaning behind his post-goal actions.
And whilst in attendance at an event for Decathlon, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, Pedri went on to explain:
“I celebrate this way for my father. One day I was having lunch with him at home and I wanted to dedicate the goals to him because he’s always been with me since I was little. Since the whole family wears glasses, we came up with this gesture.”
