Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has on Thursday evening secured for himself a fresh piece of club history.
As much comes owing to his appearance in the Blaugrana’s latest outing.
Barcelona are of course currently locked in action on the domestic front, in a La Liga meeting with newly-promoted Real Oviedo.
The aforementioned De Jong was for his part forced to watch on from the bench from the off at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere, with Marc Casadó favoured in the middle of the park.
With 45 minutes on the clock, and Barcelona trailing by a goal to nil, though, the former Ajax man was introduced to proceedings by Hansi Flick.
And as alluded to above, in the process, De Jong clinched a piece of history.
As revealed across Barca’s website and social media platforms:
‘Frenkie joins Koeman: 264 games in Blaugrana. The second Dutchman with the most Barça appearances.’
