Barcelona star Raphinha secured a noteworthy piece of club history in the Blaugrana’s latest outing.
As much saw the 28-year-old continue to climb the all-time win chart for Brazilian-born players.
Barcelona were of course back in action on Sunday night.
Eyeing a return to winning ways post-international break, Hansi Flick’s troops welcomed Valencia to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, Barca ran riot, to the tune of an eventual 6-0 triumph.
And Raphinha played a starring role in as much.
Introduced off the bench at the interval, the former Leeds United man wasted little time in making his presence felt, notching a 2nd-half brace.
And as alluded to above, individual excellence aside, Barcelona’s latest victory also proved a significant one for Raphinha from a broader standpoint.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘The victory against Valencia marked Raphinha’s 100th in a Barça shirt. With this record, he becomes the sixth Brazilian-born player with the most wins with Barça, tying him with Deco.’
Blaugrana sporting director Deco played his international football with Portugal, but was born in Brazil.
