A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been dropped to the bench for his country’s latest outing.
The player in question? Pau Cubarsí.
Stopper Cubarsí was for his part in from the off over the weekend, as Spain played host to Georgia in a World Cup qualifying clash.
And the 18-year-old played his part in an eventual clean sheet, en route to a 2-0 La Roja triumph.
As alluded to above, though, this has not proven enough for Cubarsí to maintain his status on Tuesday evening.
Spain are primed to return to action in short order, in another World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria.
Luis de la Fuente’s XI for the matchup, in turn, was unveiled a short time ago.
And Cubarsí was forced to make do with a spot on the bench, replaced in the Spanish line-up by Athletic Club star Aymeric Laporte.
