A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has late this week been tipped to play an increasingly prominent role for the club over the weeks ahead.
The player in question? Marc Casadó.
Barcelona are currently facing up to a concerning situation in the club’s medical room.
As much comes with Gavi’s training ground injury having been followed by Frenkie de Jong picking up a problem of his own whilst on international duty with the Netherlands.
These developments have left Hansi Flick’s squad all of a sudden looking somewhat short on numbers in the middle of the park.
And ready to take advantage of this situation, as proved the case at the beginning of last season, is the aforementioned Marc Casadó.
As per a report from Diario Sport, with Marc Bernal still recovering from a long-term injury:
‘The name that is gaining the most strength in this context is that of Marc Casadó. The player from Sant Pere de Vilamajor now has the opportunity to vindicate himself.’
With Barcelona facing up to a busy few weeks in the aftermath of the international break, expect Casadó to see plenty of playing time.
