A shake-up in Barcelona’s midfield ranks could be in store for the club’s upcoming meeting with Levante.
That’s according to Diario AS, who highlight as much as coming owing to the current situation of Frenkie de Jong.
Dutchman De Jong has been forced to sit out training on more than one occasion this week, whilst tending to his partner ahead of the birth of their 2nd child.
The former Ajax man, in turn, is not thought to be fully up to speed when it comes to Barca’s plans for this weekend.
And as much could well culminate in De Jong, who featured from the off on La Liga’s opening day against Mallorca, dropping to the bench this coming Saturday.
As per a report from AS, the 28-year-old is far from assured of his starting place to face Levante at the Estadi Ciutat de València.
Should De Jong drop out, the favourite to replace him as things stand is Gavi.
