Barcelona star Raphinha has this week moved to reiterate his unwavering commitment to the cause in Catalunya’s capital.
Speaking during an interview with GQ magazine, as cited by Diario Sport, the Brazilian was drawn on the possibility of spending the remainder of his playing days in Barcelona colours.
And the former Leeds United man did not hesitate in assuring:
“Yes, I would love to. Barcelona is a club that has given me a lot, that welcomed me at a very important moment in my career and where I feel at home. Circumstances permitting, it would be an honour to spend the rest of my career here, winning trophies, helping the youngsters and making my mark on the club’s history. But I also know that football is unpredictable, so I try to live in the present. For now, my focus is on giving my best every day in this jersey and letting the future take its course.”
Raphinha was also drawn on a whole host of further topics during his sit-down with GQ.
Another response provided by the winger which has since piqued widespread attentions came upon Raphinha completely shutting down claims of a rivalry existing with attacking partner Lamine Yamal:
“No, that rivalry just doesn’t exist. What really exists between us is a mutual desire to perform at our best, push each other forward, and help the team succeed. We challenge each other on the pitch, but always in a constructive way, never personally. Outside of football, our relationship is very strong. We shared laughter, experiences and supported each other inside and outside the stadium. I feel like Lamine is family.”
