A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has confirmed that he has held conversations with new head coach Hansi Flick, ahead of the pair linking up later this summer.
The player in question? Ferran Torres.
Frontman Ferran, for his part, is of course currently on international duty, with Spain at the European Championships.
The 24-year-old featured from the off in La Roja’s final group stage outing, and managed to net the only goal of the game in a narrow victory over Albania.
Upon Spain’s Euros campaign coming to a close, though, Ferran’s focus will swiftly turn back towards matters at club level.
The former Manchester City man, after an injury-disturbed campaign last time out, will have the chance to reestablish himself as an important figure at Barcelona, under the watch of new boss Hansi Flick.
Those of a Blaugrana persuasion, in turn, will no doubt be interested to hear that Ferran and Flick, in fact, have already spoken on more than one occasion.
During an interview with RAC1 on Friday, the former revealed that he and his teammates have been contacted by their new headmaster ‘a couple of times’, adding that he is looking forward to getting started in Barcelona under Flick’s watch:
“I have spoken a couple of times with Flick when he congratulated us after the games. I can’t wait to go back to Barcelona, meet him personally and start training with him.”
