Barcelona star Alejandro Balde has on Tuesday made clear that Hansi Flick’s squad intend to take absolutely no prisoners in their upcoming showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid.
The latest edition of El Clásico is of course set to play out this coming weekend.
In a showdown between 1st and 2nd in the La Liga table, Real Madrid will play host to Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Visitors Barca utterly dominated their bitter rivals last season, emerging triumphant from all four fixtures between the sides.
Their league meeting in Spain’s capital proved a particularly one-sided affair, as the Blaugrana ran riot to the tune of a 4-0 triumph.
And hopeful of a similarly one-sided affair playing out this weekend is the aforementioned Alejandro Balde.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of Barcelona’s 6-1 Champions League downing of Olympiacos on Tuesday evening, left-back Balde explained:
“I’m really excited about the Clásico, it’s a special game. I hope we can win it. I hope we can thrash Madrid again at the Bernabéu, but the most important thing is who takes the three points. I think we have a good feeling ahead of the Clásico, but it doesn’t matter which team is in better form. Anything can happen in this game.”
