Barcelona star Lamine Yamal on Wednesday moved a step closer to equalling or potentially breaking a La Liga record currently held by Real Madrid icon Raúl Gonzalez.
This comes owing to his exploits in the Blaugrana’s latest outing.
Hansi Flick’s men are currently locked in domestic action, in a league meeting with Celta Vigo.
Barca as things stand find themselves headed towards another three-point haul, leading Celta by a goal to nil.
The aforementioned Lamine Yamal was the scorer, slotting home from the penalty spot late in the first-half before quickly limping down the tunnel with what appeared to be an injury problem.
And as alluded to above, in the process, the Spanish international continued to close on history.
As per StatMuse, the current record for goals scored by a player aged 18 or younger in a single La Liga season is 19 (Raúl).
With six rounds of fixtures still to play in the 2025/26 campaign, though, Lamine has now hit the 16-mark.
