Barcelona star called up by Catalan national team to face Palestine

La Liga giants Barcelona have given the green light to Marc Bernal to link up with the Catalan national team for the November international break.

This comes amid the midfielder’s ongoing efforts to recover full fitness.

Youngster Bernal has for his part spent the early months of the campaign being utilised as a late substitute by manager Hansi Flick.

As much comes with the 18-year-old not long back from a year on the sidelines with a torn ACL.

For this reason, Bernal was not called up by Spain’s U21s for a pair of upcoming fixtures against San Marino and Romania.

As alluded to above, though, the talented midfielder will nevertheless be active on the national team front over the coming week.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, after lengthy discussions between the parties, Barcelona have informed the Catalan national team that Bernal is at their disposal this month.

Catalunya are primed to take part in a friendly meeting with Palestine at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys this day next week.

And Bernal, on a specific minutes restriction, looks set to play his part.
