A fresh insight into the current mindset of Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen has been forthcoming online.
This of course comes fresh off another day across which the German has dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital.
After a tumultuous week to date, Barcelona on Thursday made official their call to strip Ter Stegen of the club’s captain’s armband.
The 33-year-old’s refusal to sign a medical report drawn up by the club proved the straw that broke the camel’s back for the Camp Nou brass, who have afforded captaincy duties for the time being to Ronald Araújo.
And as alluded to above, on Thursday evening, an update on Ter Stegen’s side of things has been provided.
The info comes courtesy of Cadena SER, who report that the experienced shot-stopper feels as though something of a smear campaign has been waged against him by Joan Laporta and co:
‘The goalkeeper believes his image with the fans has been damaged for no reason. He complains that he hasn’t been informed of the club’s intentions toward him and denies some of the allegations that have come to light, such as his refusal to speak to the fans at Montjuïc, as the club claims.’
