Barcelona star beats match-winner Araújo to Man of the Match award

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona saw his efforts in the club’s latest outing recognised by way a deserved award on Saturday.

The player in question? Pedri.

Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming neighbours Girona to Montjuïc for a La Liga clash.

And en route to a last-gasp 2-1 triumph, the aforementioned Pedri, once again, played a starring role.

Whilst several leading members of Hansi Flick’s squad toiled in their efforts to make an impact against Girona, the 22-year-old continued to go about his business in the middle of the park with trademark poise and quality.

Not only that, but Pedri opened the evening’s scoring, courtesy of a moment of individual brilliance early on.

Whilst it was Ronald Araújo who stole the headlines post-match owing to his injury-time winner, Barca’s midfield sensation, in turn, was instead chosen as the game’s official Man of the Match:
