Barcelona star attracting interest from two La Liga clubs ahead of January

Barcelona star Eric García is beginning to emerge as a man in demand in La Liga, ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.

Eric, for his part, is of course sidelined at present, owing to a foot problem suffered during the warm-up for Barcelona’s meeting with Sevilla earlier this month.

Prior to as much, though, the Spanish international found himself in and out of the XI of new boss Hansi Flick.

In fact, across Barca’s opening 14 fixtures of the season, Eric had been afforded a starting berth in just four.

And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media in Spain is anything to go by, then a pair of leading La Liga clubs are eager to take advantage of this situation, by luring the former Manchester City man away from Catalunya’s capital this winter.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, both Girona and Real Sociedad are expressing a keen interest in Eric’s signature with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.

Barcelona, it is added, are ‘unbothered’ by such interest, focused only on matters on the pitch amid what has been a stellar start to the term.
