A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Tuesday been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
The player in question? Iñigo Martínez.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, veteran stopper Iñigo has made his way onto the wishlist of Al-Ittihad.
The former Athletic Club standout is considered the ideal profile to reinforce the backline of a squad already featuring the talents of the likes of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, Fabinho and Moussa Diaby.
Barcelona, however, have absolutely no intention of parting with Iñigo before the summer is out.
The 33-year-old has played a leading role under the watch of new manager Hansi Flick over the opening weeks of the new campaign, with his experience and no-nonsense nature highly appreciated by the Barca coaching staff.
Not only that, but injuries to both Ronald Araújo and Andreas Christensen were today added to by a further blow on the part of Eric García.
With Mika Faye having departed for Stade Rennais, too, Iñigo will therefore be going nowhere before the summer transfer window is out.
