Barcelona star attracting interest from 3 clubs ahead of January window

A trio of clubs from across the continent are expressing an interest in the signature of Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen with a view to the winter transfer window.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight Beşiktaş, Manchester United and AS Monaco as the sides in question.

Goalkeeper Ter Stegen is of course widely expected to be on the move in January.

This comes with the 33-year-old, sidelined at present through injury, having tumbled to third-choice in the pecking order between the posts in Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad.

Ahead of next summer’s World Cup, Ter Stegen is therefore aware that a transfer will be required to carve out for himself the necessary game time to secure a place in Germany’s travelling party.

Turkish heavyweights Beşiktaş have gone as far as to initiate contacts with Ter Stegen and his entourage.

Man United and Monaco, meanwhile, are waiting in the wings.

It now remains to be seen where Ter Stegen himself considers the most desirable landing spot.
